Who we are

Flyingdove Mills PLC

Flyingdove Mills PLC is a bio-energy technology start-up founded in 2021. The company has developed a five-pronged approach in promoting green energy using biomass. The plan is to deploy biochar in rural and off-grid communities in Nigeria and across Sub-Saharan Africa to provide access to renewable green energy.

Why are we different?

New Concept

Flyingdove is the first in Nigeria to deploy pyrolysis technology that convert agricultural and biomass waste into green energy and renewable biofuels and products to deliver the positive reduction of carbon footprints.

Embracing Diversity

From our team-members to our partners, we encourage and support equality and diversity in every community we engage.

Encouraging Sustainability

Helping people (women in particular) to be economically productive whilst protecting their environment.

Our Projects

Biochar (Briquettes)

Biochar is the lightweight black residue made of carbon and ashes remaining, after the pyrolysis of biomass. It is defined by the International Biochar Initiative as “the solid material obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass in an oxygen-limited environment. Biochar is a stable solid that is rich in pyrogenic carbon and can endure in soil for thousands of years.

Organic Fertilizer

This organic fertilizer is also known as enriched biochar, is a nutrient-rich soil amendment that improves soil fertility and plant yield. It’s produced from biochar – a fine-grained carbon compound that becomes activated or enriched when mixed with the fertilizer like compost. Once you add this mix to your plants, it creates a reservoir of plant nutrients and moisture in the soil, enabling plant nutrient uptake.

Mulching Bags

Granular products such as mulch, sand and other landscaping materials can be difficult to package. These types of products are often stored outside, and require moisture resistant and durable bags. Moreso, our water-repelling mulching bags are ideal for packaging mulch and similar materials. These bags come in a variety of sizes and various thickness that are easily stackable and can stand up to tough weather, storage and handling conditions.

Waste to wealth

Briquettes as Waste to Wealth

Briquettes are made from renewable Agric waste that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. They’re safe to use in closed spaces like your kitchen, garage, or even your living room. And with no harmful emissions, you can cook without any worries!

Every day, the world generates a lot of waste. However, not all of it is useless. In fact, some of it can be turned into wealth. Briquettes are one example of this. They are made from waste that would otherwise have been thrown away and they can be used for cooking.

Briquettes can be made from any type of waste that has a high energy content and is easy to burn – such as wood chips, sawdust or paper scraps. The process is simple: the material is heated to a high temperature so that it burns off any moisture and becomes dry; then it’s compressed into blocks which are then cooked until they’re hard enough to be burned in an oven or stove without catching fire.
